Dental Implants Help Patients Live and Smile Better

If you are one of the millions of Americans with at least one missing tooth, you are in good company. It is normal to lose a permanent tooth, but it can be hard to live with missing teeth. Often, patients with a missing tooth or teeth tell us they are nervous to smile, apply for jobs, or go on first dates. You don’t need to feel this way any longer. We want you to experience life to the fullest. Let us help you regain your confidence with dental implants.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth. They involve the surgical placement of a titanium toot-root into the jawbone that acts as the solid and secure base for your new tooth. The implant itself fuses to the bone structure, making it a strong, stable, and integrated part of your oral anatomy. Once the implant heals, we can place an abutment, or false tooth to the implant filling the gap and leaving you with a beautiful, and full smile. If you are missing more than one tooth, we can also discuss implant supported dentures or All-on-4® dentures as well.

Why people prefer dental implants to a bridge or dentures

Implants allow you to speak, smile and eat with confidence. They are comfortable and stay in place. They function and look and feel like natural teeth. Unlike a bridge, dental implants use the surgical security of the jawbone to stay in place rather than neighboring teeth or adhesive. This is a much more secure option. With dental implants you can

  • Eat
  • Drink
  • Speak
  • Smile

With all the confidence you have in your natural teeth. Dentures, while they have come a long way, can still cause bone atrophy that ages the face. If you want to maintain a youthful appearance, dental implants are the way to go. Dental implants drastically improve a patient’s quality of life by helping them regain confidence, and get back to eating all the healthy foods they may have avoided while missing teeth.

Before your procedure

Implants can increase your self-confidence and improve your bite. However, we need to determine first if implants are a good option for you based on your health, jaw-bone density, and gum health, all factors necessary to make your implant be successful. At this initial evaluation we will determine if we need to incorporate any other treatment into your plan before we can place your implant(s).

There’s no commitment in the consultation, but we do think it will be one of the best investments you ever make.  Contact your Peoria dentist at (623) 974-4799  today to schedule.
